Forget cardboard vegan pizzas from the supermarket – Italia Uno’s freshly made pizza bases come with vegan cheeses galore, including melted Sheese blue style cheese chunks. You could also opt for a mushroom risotto, arancini for starters, or even a vegan Nutella calzone!
The Porter Pizza Company

Tired of stodgy ‘American’ pizzas, the team behind The Porter Pizza Company went on a mission to replicate continental pizzas they loved on holiday. The dough is left to slow prove overnight, then stretched to maintain its “air bubble structure”, and finally cooked in a wood fire oven.
Proove Pizza

Fancy something a little different to your regular margarita? Proove’s brand new vegan menu has lots of interesting pizzas to choose from. The La Contadina has a green pea base and is topped with sauteed cabbage, the La Greca comes with Proove’s homemade hummus, and you can even enjoy a white pizza with The Kale.

Butlers Balti House

Balti is a dish that originates from North West and Northern Punjab – and nowhere does it better in Sheffield than Butlers Balti House. You could try a Balti Mushroom, Balti Saag Aloo, or Balti Aloo Gobi.
MA-ba

MA-ba is part of Cutlery Works – the largest food hall in the North. Not sure which curry to choose? You could get ‘Veggie Thali Daily’, which comes with three curries, Jeera rice, pickle, mango pulp, a dip and poppadoms (Sundays only).
Cafe Indus

Cafe Indus has been around in Sheffield since 1984! They have a separate vegan menu with 13 main dishes, ranging from Baltis to Bhunas and Daals.
Kashmiri Aroma

Kashmiri Aroma has five sites across the North of England, which is a testament to the popularity of their Indian dishes. At their vegan-friendly takeaway in Sheffield, meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans alike can enjoy an extensive menu, with plenty of tasty vegan options.
Ajanta’s Vegetarian
This Indian restaurant may be closed for now, but they’ve reassured visitors that they’ll be back soon. It’ll be worth the wait, though: 93% of reviewers on TripAdvisor rated them ‘Excellent’. Ajanta’s Vegetarian has been praised for its affordable dishes and for having the “best dhal ever!”.

Saucy

With a name like that, you’d be silly not to try Saucy’s signature burger sauce with a BB Burger, made from a plant-based patty. You can also find vegan ‘chicken’ wings and pieces, as well as loaded mac n’ cheese.
Church – Temple of Fun

Church has been on the Sheffield vegan scene for a while now – and there’s a good reason why. Sadly, we can’t visit the stained glass window-clad restaurant right now, but their food is just as delicious at home. The Gyromaniac – a spiced seitan kebab – is our top pick.
Make No Bones

Make No Bones are also the brains behind Saucy. They’re so good, we included them twice in this list! Their Philly Cheese main – made with beef-style slices, caramelised green pepper with red onion, and creamy vegan cheese sauce – is divine.
Sunshine Deli
989 Penistone Rd, Hillsborough, Sheffield, England, S6 2DH
Sunshine Deli is famous for their ‘fried chicken’, but you can also opt for other fast-food favourites, like fish and chips. There are beer-battered banana, mushrooms, sausage and onion rings too. Check out their Facebook page for more info.

Usually, Pour specialise in vegan pizzas, but you can also get a vegan Sunday roast delivered too. Perfect for Sunday afternoons when you can’t be bothered to cook. Check out their Facebook page for more info.
Fat Hippo

If you’re reading this article, you’re probably a tofu fan. Ditch the tofu press and order from Wild Rice instead. There are so many delicious tofu dishes to choose from, plus mock chicken/duck alternatives if that’s more to your tastes.

Icarus and Appollo

The team behind Icarus and Apollo take inspiration from all around the world. Their ingredients are as sustainable as possible and sourced locally. Take a flavour journey via dishes such as West African peanut curry, mango salsa and Mexican Waffadilla with a trio of dips.
V or V

The V or V menu changes with the seasons. However, whatever time of year, you’re guaranteed to get a delicious meal. Head chef Mr Danny Lynn experiments with international flavours hailing from Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Although the restaurant is currently closed, you can order seasonal hampers right to your front door.
Blue Moon Cafe

Every day, Blue Moon Cafe serves two vegan and one vegetarian dish. You’ll find a range of dishes on offer throughout the year, from British classics to Turkish roasted aubergine. They also collaborate with Girls Who Grind Coffee, which helps to support female coffee growers.

If you’re feeling chilly on a cold winter night, there’s nothing better than a reyt nice pie to warm you up. Pieminster has plenty of vegan pies available for home delivery. One in particular is filled with mushroom, quinoa, tomato, onion, red wine and has the best pie name ever: Kevin.

Amigos have a dedicated vegan menu just for takeaway food. Why not try the avocado and cactus salad, or some vegan nachos topped with bean chilli?

As a vegan, you won’t miss out on Taco Mex’s amazing Mexican food. There’s a vegan speciality menu, which includes Chimichanga, nachos and a ‘pulled beef’ vegan burrito – which comes in three sizes depending on your appetite.

Another entry from Kommune, Torito has a Napoles Burrito that comes with mexican rice, black beans, Pico De Gallo, cactus, sour cream, pickles and Torito’s own chilli sauce. The vegan selection at Torito isn’t huge, but the Napoles Burrito alone is worth it.

La Mama

If you’re eating as a group, tapas is perfect if you want to try a sample of lots of different vegan dishes. The tapas dishes at La Mama are pre-cooked and then, by ordering them online, you can reheat them in the comfort of your own home.

A warm vietnamese noodle soup is perfect for a cold, wintry night. Pho has a *huge* selection of vegan dishes available, including hot and spicy tofu and mushroom noodle soup, ‘chicken’ wok fried noodles, and starters like vietnamese pancakes.

DANA is open for takeaway orders in lockdown. This vegetarian cafe has plenty of vegan options. Their vegetarian breakfast (which is available with tofu instead of egg), is a firm Sheffield favourite!
Gaard Coffee Hide

Miss the taste of milkshakes? Well, at Gaar Coffee Hide, you can get vegan ‘Nice Cream Shakes’ to order via Deliveroo. There are also sandwiches, wraps, croissants and cakes to choose from.
Pom Kitchen

Everything on the menu at Pom Kitchen is vegan, from their Hot Bacon Butty, to their granola pots and banana bread. Or go for a ‘Pom Dog’ – a vegan hot dog, with options including the ‘Brunch Dog’, which comes with smashed avo, baked beans, mushrooms and crispy onions.

Ditch your dry supermarket sushi and get delivery from Koko instead. They have a separate vegetarian and vegan menu, which comes with starters, mains and deserts. You can even get a sharing platter (even if it’s just for you!), which has 20 sushi pieces included.
Sakushi

Sakushi has won multiple awards and has some of the best sushi going in Sheffield. You can also avoid the huge waiting times at Wagamamas and opt for their pumpkin croquette katsu curry instead (it tastes much better too!).
